I Learn Because It Is Fun

I read Kimi no Quiz by Satoshi Ogawa.

I used to think that fast‑button quizzes were only about memory.
But that was not true.
People who become quiz champions study a lot, practice every day, and make knowledge a part of their life.
They change the way they see the world.

There is a “deep world” in fast‑button quizzes.
Only people who enter this world can see its special view.
For them, it becomes a purpose and joy in life.

After I finished the book, I wanted to study more.
Knowledge helps me connect the different moments of my life.
It gives me a big hand to catch my past time again.
That feeling stayed in my heart.

I used to think:
“Older people do not need to study.”
“Why learn when the internet has all the information?”
I believed this a little.

But I am the only person who can think about my life.
So learning more is always good for me.
The internet has information, but the knowledge inside me is connected to my experience.
They are different.

Since I started reading 10–20 books a month, I feel a clear change.
I can talk about many topics now.
Even when I hear something new, I can listen with interest because I try to learn new things every day.

The most interesting thing is this:
When I talk with someone, words I never thought about suddenly come out of my mouth.

“Oh, I didn’t know I was thinking like this.”
I feel surprised.

These words appear because my reading and study connect inside me and take shape during conversation.

When this happens, I feel a little proud of myself.

I think, “I have become an interesting person.”

I feel this because my knowledge has grown,
and what I learn now connects with my world
and also with the outside world.

Learning is not something I do because I must.
Learning makes my world deeper.
It shapes the way I live.
